After completing an English degree at Oxford University and working as an actor and arts administrator in London, Clare Owen married a boatbuilder and moved to Cornwall.
In 2008 she founded a theatre company specialising in improvising the real life stories of audiences around the county and she co-writes and performs with the all women ensemble, Riot of the Freelance Mind.
Her short stories have been published online and in print, including in Mslexia, Storgy and the anthology An Outbreak of Peace (Arachne Press).
Her first YA novel, Zed and the Cormorants, will be published April 2021 (Arachne Press).
