Feeding pigeons on the balcony of our flat in Durban, where we lived briefly before moving to Gweru, Zimbabwe

Black, White and Dead All Over (Knops. 2008) by John Darnton, a who-dunnit set in the offices of a New York newspaper

Why did you choose Dizzy Worms for your new title?
It conveys the confusion of Africa: what do you get when you shake up  a can of worms?

Who would play you in the film of your life?
John Hurt

What is your guiltiest pleasure?
Writing when I should be relaxing

How do you relax?
With difficulty – stroking my cat helps

What is your favourite book?
