Litro Submission Sprint — October 2026 is a small-group editorial sprint for writers with one short story, flash piece, essay, hybrid work, or other short-form draft up to 4,000 words. You bring one piece. We work on making it clearer, sharper, and closer to ready to send.
Across three live sessions, we move from reader contract to structure and ending, then into polish and submission package. You’ll submit material ahead of each session so the feedback is prepared, practical, and focused on the actual draft.
By the end, you’ll have a stronger short work, a final revision plan, a short cover note, and a winter 2026 submission tracker with serious, edited venues chosen for fit.
This course is designed to improve revision quality, submission readiness, and accountability. It does not guarantee publication.
How you will learn
You’ll learn through a small live editorial cohort built around one short piece up to 4,000 words. The focus is practical and submission-facing: clearer revision decisions, stronger structure, sharper line-level control, and a serious plan for where the piece might go next.
- Three live Zoom sessions: one focused session each week with teaching, close examples, group discussion, and clear next actions.
- One piece per student: you’ll work on a single short story, flash piece, essay, hybrid piece, or other short-form draft throughout the sprint.
- Earlier weekly deadlines: you’ll submit material before each session so there is time for proper editorial preparation, not rushed live reaction.
- Focused revision tasks: each week ends with one practical job: clarify the opening, fix the structure, strengthen the ending, or polish the final pass.
- Submission package: the final stage includes a short cover note and a winter 2026 submission tracker with serious, edited venues chosen for fit.
- Practical editorial guidance: we focus on what to cut, what to move, what to strengthen, what to leave alone, and what still blocks the piece from being ready to send.
The Tutor
Eric Akoto
Eric Akoto is the editor and publisher of Litro Magazine, which for two decades has published emerging and established writers from around the world — in print, online, and through live events. He has read, selected, and edited short work at scale, and worked closely with writers on getting individual pieces into publishable shape.
His editorial focus is practical: what to cut, what to strengthen, what to leave alone, and where a piece should go next. Writers who have worked with him through Litro Fast Track know him for concise, exacting feedback that turns a near-ready draft into a submission-ready one.
In his sprints he brings that same editorial eye to a small cohort — clear diagnosis, sharper revision decisions, and a realistic plan for sending the work out.
