Two Truths and a Lie: Writing Fiction from Real Life (4-week course)

£195.00

Two Truths and a Lie: Writing Fiction from Real Life is a 4-week live writing course that shows you how to turn lived experience into compelling fiction — with shape, momentum, and emotional precision.

Across four sessions, you’ll learn how to draw from memory, observation, and real moments, then transform them into scenes that feel alive on the page. You’ll leave with new material, a clearer sense of story, and a repeatable process you can return to whenever you sit down to write.

Who it’s for

  • Writers who want to use real life as fuel — without writing memoir.
  • Fiction writers who have strong moments but need structure, stakes, and forward motion.
  • Writers who want to deepen character, tension, and voice without overexplaining.
  • Anyone who wants a guided process that produces pages — not just ideas.

What you’ll produce

  • Fresh weekly drafts created in-session through guided prompts.
  • A “material bank” of memories, images, and story seeds you can reuse later.
  • At least one developing piece shaped across the four weeks (scene, short story, or hybrid).
  • A practical framework for converting truth into fiction — without losing the charge.

How you’ll learn

  • Live Zoom sessions (75 minutes): focused teaching, guided writing, and structured discussion.
  • Weekly signature exercise: a clear method for moving from experience → story.
  • Optional between-session writing: prompts designed to extend the work without overwhelm.
  • Weekly discussion prompt: reflection and accountability without turning it into a critique circle.
  • Replay (30 days): recordings available if you miss a session or want to revisit.

Turn real life into compelling fiction with structure, control, and intent.

This 4-week live workshop with Supriya is designed to help you move beyond raw experience and shape it into narrative that works on the page. You’ll learn how to draw from memory, observation, and lived moments  then build them into scenes with tension, clarity, and forward motion.

Each session combines short teaching, guided writing, and practical frameworks you can use immediately. You won’t be left with ideas  you’ll produce new material every week.

By the end of the course, you’ll have multiple fresh drafts, a clearer sense of how to shape personal material into fiction, and one piece you can continue developing beyond the course.

This course is for:
– Writers who want to use real life as material without writing memoir
– Fiction writers with strong moments but no clear structure
– Writers looking to deepen character, tension, and narrative control
– Anyone who wants a guided process that produces actual pages

Format: Live Zoom sessions with optional weekly writing between classes.
