Karin Jervert

Karin Jervert is an artist and writer currently living in New Jersey. Her art embraces an idea many artists and authors have echoed throughout history: telling your story is a revolutionary political act, one that reinforces the immeasurable value of our lives. Writing and art-making have been passed down to Karin through two generations of women artists, along with the diversity of the artist’s mind and a respect for her role in society. She is currently working on a memoir titled, All Signs Point to Something Wonderful: Surviving Psychiatry, a collection of short stories about her journey into, and out of, the world of psychiatric labels and trauma. Through these stories, she explores the healing power of witnessing each other’s suffering, and the embrace of the artistic drive and temperament as a path to empowerment.
