FLASH FRIDAY — DAY 5: WHAT IT COSTS
Greed isn’t always spectacular. Sometimes it’s domestic. Sometimes it’s private. In Secret, appetite becomes a transaction — and someone else carries the bill.
“He’s 6 foot 2 and weighs 150 tops, but he’s constantly eating. He can clear a buffet table and be looking for more. That’s how I got so fat. He ate all the food, and I gained all the weight.”
So says his wife. She’s built of loose parts, like sand bags and tires heaped in a sack. She’s jolly to strangers and especially children, but she smells like a bakery and her teeth sweat with hunger. He shops for her groceries three times a day.
