FLASH FRIDAY — DAY 5: WHAT IT COSTS

Greed isn’t always spectacular. Sometimes it’s domestic. Sometimes it’s private. In Secret, appetite becomes a transaction — and someone else carries the bill.

“He’s 6 foot 2 and weighs 150 tops, but he’s constantly eating.  He can clear a buffet table and be looking for more.  That’s how I got so fat.  He ate all the food, and I gained all the weight.”

So says his wife.  She’s built of loose parts, like sand bags and tires heaped in a sack.  She’s jolly to strangers and especially children, but she smells like a bakery and her teeth sweat with hunger.  He shops for her groceries three times a day.
