Sheila Kannappan is an astrophysicist living in Chapel Hill, North Carolina. She writes out of love for the Universe, our living planet, and all beings therein. In 2005, she participated in animal rescue efforts in post-Hurricane Katrina New Orleans and rescued a shepherd-mix puppy that had somehow survived for two weeks even as older and stronger animals were dying.
