Kate Shapiro won first place in the Summer Literary Seminars 2018 Fiction Contest. Her short fiction is forthcoming in Fence in 2019. Her other fiction and non-fiction has appeared in Chicago Literati and Thought Catalog. She is currently an MFA candidate in Fiction at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas.
