Alice Allan has lived and worked in London, Tokyo, Addis Ababa and Tashkent as an actress, trainer, lactation consultant and writer. She spent four years in Ethiopia volunteering in public hospitals with mothers and newborn babies. Her new novel, Open My Eyes That I May See Marvellous Things, is published by Pinter and Martin and tells the story of a midwife who falls in love with a premature baby. She has written for The Telegraph, Green Parent and the Ethiopian Herald, among others. She currently lives in Uzbekistan with her husband, two daughters and a large Ethiopian street dog called Frank.
