Blanche Rivers writes research reports, topical articles for local news media, and creative fiction. She writes short stories about familiar people, animals and landscapes, and is currently working on a science fiction/fantasy novel exploring themes of distance and connection. She has worked as a freelance researcher, a teacher for primary, university and other adult students, both in South Africa and UK, and for primary and secondary schools in Devon. She has been an assistant smallholder, cheesemaker, seller of vegetables and is a qualified counsellor. She is active in a number of community organisations, is secretary of a social enterprise and lives in Devon with her husband
