Rukmini Girish grew up in Chennai, India. She now lives in Chicago, where she writes about theatre, identity, immigration and the intersections between those topics. She received an MFA in nonfiction from Columbia College Chicago, and was named a Luminarts Creative Writing Fellow for 2018. Most recently, her work has appeared on Essay Daily and in Punctuate: A Nonfiction Magazine.
