How to Eat a Hot Dog

Stare hungrily at the hot dog stand until your mother finally gives in and buys one. Ask for a foot-long one. Take a small bite of the bun and complain that you don’t like it. Pour ketchup on it until the bun is red and soggy. [private]Draw patterns in the ketchup with mustard. Ask for Tabasco sauce, but settle for relish. Eat half of the hot dog and say you’re full. Put some more ketchup on it and have a few more bites. Let the wiener fall out of the bun and cry when it hits your shoe. Wash your shoe in the short-people drinking fountain (while still on foot). Watch your mother look around and see her face get red when she finds you. Say “sorry” when she threatens never to take you shopping again. On the way out of the mall ask for an ice cream cone.[/private]
