Here at Litro, we pride ourselves on publishing great original fiction. Although they may not have been big names when we published them, many of our writers have gone on to do great things.
Litro Represents is the organic growth of Litro Magazine, and the continuation of Litro’s aim of finding and launching new writers. While enriching the careers of existing authors, we have published debut writers for close to 10 years, including the likes of Stuart Evers, Ben Fergusson, Sabrina Mahfouz, Clare Wigfall, Richard House (ManBooker longlisted 2013), Janice Shapiro and many more. As publishing becomes a more competitive industry, so it has also become harder for promising young writers to break through and secure their first book deal. Litro Represents makes sure that these new voices can still be heard.
“My story, Endless, appeared in the (Anti-)Love issue in Feburary 2011. One of the things I love about Litro is the cover art – that issue had a particularly striking image by Mikaela Westerholm. Since then, I’ve had my novel, A Parachute in the Lime Tree, accepted for publication in March 2012 by The History Press Ireland. As a specialist history publisher, fiction is a new departure for them, so it’s very exciting for us both!”

Stuart Ever’s first published short story Some Great Project appeared in Litro magazine and went on to be included in his debut short story collection Ten Stories About Smoking, published in 2011 by Picador.
“Well, Litro was the start of a run of good things for me. Since that fateful issue in 2009, I’ve had a novel published and nominated for a few awards, called Coconut Unlimited. I co-wrote an ebook about the urban youth with Kieran Yates called Generation Vexed. I also went on to write a pilot for Channel 4’s Comedy Lab series called Kabadasses.”
24 year old, Maia Jenkins is a London based writer. She grew up in Singapore and France but moved back to the UK in 2009. She holds an MA in Modern Literature at University College London and is now working on her first novel. She won the 2013 GQ Norman Mailer Student Writing Prize and will be published in a forthcoming issue of GQ.
Jonathan Heaf, GQ Features Director, said of the winning entrant:
“This year the judges were unanimous – Maia’s winning entry To The Weakness Of Others is an exceptional, luminous piece of writing showing not only a maturity beyond her 24 years but also a true talent for the art of observation. She fully deserves the recognition she received last night in New York and I for one can’t wait to read what she writes next. A unique find.”
Litro Represents is a bespoke agency, with the key goal of finding the most promising young writers and giving them a platform to be seen and signed. The focus of the agency is not on the volume of writers it represents but on uncovering the best writers and the most exciting new writing. We are not currently open to submissions from authors seeking representation – instead, we have handpicked the most exciting new talent from the writers published within the pages of Litro magazine.
Thanks to our status as an exclusive, boutique agency – and our connection with Litro magazine – we are able to offer our authors a more personal and all-round approach than many conventional literary agents. In the modern publishing industry success is about more than simply the words on the page. We work together with our authors to create both an online presence and a following for their work. In many cases this involves scheduling live appearances at literary festivals and reading events, as well as assisting with social media. We are also able to offer them regular exposure in Litro magazine and on the Litro.co.uk website, tapping into Litro’s international readership.
Beyond this, we offer our extensive editorial experience to our authors, working with them to polish their manuscripts before sending them out to prospective publishers. Our specific approach is dictated by each author’s individual needs, respecting their artistic integrity and unique vision while helping their voice to be heard in an increasingly crowded marketplace.
Handling all of our own foreign rights, we develop a long-term, bespoke and global plan for our clients. We are dedicated to providing the best care for our authors who, with the help of our editorial services and advice, are able to navigate their way through the publishing process in securing their first book deals.
As publishing becomes more competitive, the marketplace can seem oppressive and intimidating to aspiring authors. Litro Represents is here to make sure that the next generation of successful writers can be heard.
Hi dears, you guys sound amazing, how can i submit my work to you? I can’t register on the website either, so sad. Looking forward to your reply, thank you very much! Cheers!
How do I make an inquiry about a submission (December 2018) to learn whether it is still under consideration?
Your name and company was referred to me with the recommendation that you are willing as a literary agent to accept the submission of new manuscripts. The current manuscript I have attached for your consideration is based on my research of over 25 years into English and Cheshire history related to the famous Vale Royal Abbey and the individuals who lived there over the centuries. The title is “The Delamere Saga (The Untold Story of Vale Royal Abbey)”.
This above book is the first of a trilogy, the second manuscript is titled, “Zero Hour of the Apartheid Regime of Zuid Afrika”. This book is a comprehensive review of the beginning and the end of Apartheid in South Africa from the vantage point of a white British person who in a small way contributed to its final demise. To be released in celebration of the anniversary of 25 years since Apartheid collapsed in 1994.
The third manuscript, is titled, “The Birth, Life & Death of King Cotton”. This book covers the beginning of the slave trade in Africa, to the cotton plantations in America that used and exploited these slaves and onto the cotton trade in Lancashire, England. It also covers the fascinating history of the Greenwood family, whose personal story reflects the effect of the notorious cotton trade on a typical family in the 1800’s.
We also have a fourth manuscript under the topic, “Masters & Slaves of Modern Religion”. This book is to be published by the “MTC International Foundation” as a contribution to the need for openness and honesty regarding religious cults and the dangers associated with mind control and how these cults operate. This in-depth book will cover the cults of Scientology, the Mormon Church and the Watchtower Society, plus some other lesser known religious cults. We are placing this manuscript as an e-book on Amazon, but we are looking for a publisher who would like to handle the release of a hard-copy.
If you would like to receive the manuscripts of books, 2, 3 and 4 we would be willing to forward these to you in PDF format.
