Holidays are always the happiest time of the year. It’s the moment when we rest and do what we like best. All travelers, from the most adventurous and intrepid ones to the most peaceful ones, like to make the most of their free time. Some of the most impressive trips are those that have an element of natural phenomena. Mountain or beach breaks are very frequent, but there are also some more exotic options like traveling to volcanoes, waterfalls or caves. Here are some interesting plans that you could undertake:

One of the most impressive natural spectacles we can see are the northern lights. To see them, the most important thing is to go as far north as possible from October to March, although the best time to contemplate them is from December to February. Seeing them from Norway can be a very interesting option because this country offers many interesting possibilities. You can visit the famous fjords, and if you have some extra time, traveling around the country to visit beautiful cities such as Bergen are alluring options. But if you want to enjoy the northern lights, the best thing to do is to go to Svalbard, Tromsø, North Cape or the Senja observatory.

Niagara Falls is another great natural wonder worth seeing at least once in a lifetime. Located on the border between the United States and Canada, the two countries share the waterfalls, although the best views are from the Canadian side. It’s very interesting to get on the Maid of the Mist, so you can see the falls from up-close. At night, the falls light up, revealing a very different view.

For a fairy-tale holiday, visiting the Waitomo Glowworm Caves can be an incredible idea. These caves, located in New Zealand, seem like they were from the movie Avatar or another strange universe altogether.. This happens because the caves light up due to the glowworms that live inside them. In many of them, there are stalactites and stalagmites formed by dripping water for centuries. The best way to get to know the caves is on foot or via a boat tour. Under the hills of Waitomo, there is a maze of caves, chasms and underground rivers, which makes  it a great holiday destination.
